Just a quick update for our Radiant missions venture tomorrow: Meet to carpool in the church’s BACK parking lot at 9:15. There’s an event at the church early in the morning, so the front lot will be full. If the back lot is also crowded, look for us in teal Radiant shirts. Can’t wait to serve the community with you!
Join us Radiant ladies for Reimagine Brownsville this Saturday, Oct. 19, from 9:15-2:30. We’ll feed needy families in our area, one pastry at a time. (A little inside humor if you were part of last year’s events: We were always assigned the yummy pastry table: Cakes, cinnamon rolls, doughnuts….)
I’d love to know if you’re coming to help. As of now, we’re assigned two work stations. We might need three, though, if turn-out is good. Text me, Ava Sturgeon, at (850) 261-5307 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Meet at Olive Baptist BACK parking lot (behind the sanctuary) at 9:15 so we can carpool. Look for us in teal Radiant shirts. We’ll arrive at Oakcrest Elementary by 10:00, then work until 2:00-2:30.
Lunch is provided. Wear your Radiant t-shirt or get one from me on Saturday. Be modest, please: Jeans or decent-length shorts. And wear comfy shoes, since you’ll be standing most of the time.
Please come! It’ll change your heart for the better.
The Tuesday night Life Group (20-21 year olds, for the most part) took some time to celebrate teacher Kathy Dutremble’s birthday tonight. Don’t these look like sweet, fun, Jesus following ladies? If you’re looking for a Bible study, check out the 20-21 Life Group tab on the Home Page for more info!
- Saturday, October 19 is Reimagine Brownsville at Oakcrest Elementary School (1820 North Hollywood Avenue) from 11:00-2:30. This is a free food giveaway for needy families, and Radiant has volunteered at the last three events. We’ll meet at the church about 10:15 that Saturday morning and carpool to the location. Trust me: You’ll be forever changed after helping the poor in our city.
- Saturday, October 26 is the Fall Festival at Olive! Help us with games, food booths, etc. as the community’s children flock to our campus for some fun. Hours are 10:00-1:00. More info soon. This is a fun one!
If you’re in the 20-21 Life Group or considering joining, take note: Address change THIS WEEK ONLY. Tuesday night, Sept. 17, we’ll meet at Dorothy Bare’s house, which is not far from your usual location. Dorothy’s address is 4410 La Jolla Drive, Pensacola and her home phone is (850) 484-3181. Spread the word and bring a friend! (Same time, 6:30-8:00.) More info here: http://oliveradiant.wordpress.com/life-groups-20-21/
If you’re in the 22 and up Life Group, wow, what a huge number of sweet sisters last week crowded around their Bibles! Praise the Lord for blessing this study with tender hearts for God. Monday nights from 6:30-8:00 at Beth Harris’ home. More info here: http://oliveradiant.wordpress.com/life-groups-22-29/
For the 18-19 year olds, for now we’re stuck in Moab as the Ruth study takes off. Come join us as we journey with Ruth to the House of Bread where Jesus awaits! Monday nights from 6:30-8:00 at Ava Sturgeon’s house. More info here: http://oliveradiant.wordpress.com/life-groups-18-19/
Would love you to get plugged in. So would Jesus!
This Tuesday, September 3, from 6:30-8:00, is the start of something special. A group of young women will gather in Sandra Dean’s living room and huddle over their Bibles. They’ll laugh some and learn much. They’ll pray about struggles—their own and their friends’—and God will hear. If you’re 20 or 21, how in the world could you miss it?
I’d love for everyone to hear teacher Kathy Dutremble. In fact, I’m trying to figure out how to pose as a 20 year old and sneak in. She knows her Bible and knows how to explain it. She lives under the power of the Holy Spirit. She loves working with young women; she relates to them well. And God has placed her here for such a time is this.
She and Sandra would love to know you. And you’d be better for having known them. Here are the details:

It’s time to welcome UWF students to Pensacola and to Olive! Here are two opportunities to meet some new friends and tell them all about Radiant:
1) Friday, August 23–Move In Day. Wes Sales needs volunteers who’ll help him get ready for the event. Meet at the church at 7:15 a.m. Everyone else will meet at the church at 8:00 am for instructions, then help students move into dorms until around 12:30.
2) Saturday, August 24–Water Night (sponsored by BCM) at the UWF Intermural Field, 6:00-10:00 pm. Come hang out at this free event and chat with new friends, invite them to Olive and Radiant events, etc.
Want to help with either of these events? Contact Wes Sales at (850) 748-6222.
